In Eritrea, a country situated in the Horn of Africa on the shores of the Red Sea, Bahá’ís were joined by their friends and neighbours in celebrating the bicentenary of Bahá’u’lláh's birth.

Joyous gatherings were held in a number of localities throughout the country, where guests were welcomed with warm hospitality that often included a traditional Eritrean coffee ceremony.
