The island of Madagascar, off the coast of Africa, suffered a debilitating plague outbreak in August 2017, severly limiting the ability of the population to gather in public spaces. Eager to to mark the bicentenary, communities organised small gatherings in several towns throughout the island, bringing together neighbours, friends, and families in a spirit of love and fellowship.
