In the Indian Ocean off the coast of Africa, celebrations of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Bahá'u'lláh illuminated Reunion Island.
The community held a national reception for dignitaries and officials to mark the bicentenary. The event consisted of readings from sacred writings, a speech, a musical performance, and a screening of Light to the World.
At local gatherings held throughout the island, friends, family, neighbours, and co-workers came together to celebrate Bahá’u’lláh's life with artistic performances and prayers.
