In the nation of The Gambia, hundreds gathered to celebrate the bicentenary of the birth of Bahá’u’lláh. Communities throughout the country commemorated the occasion with joyous celebrations that were imbued with devotions, music, and other artsistic expressions.
Government officials and other dignitaries attended an event at the National Bahá’í Centre in Banjul. Representatives from diverse religious communities shared prayers at the gathering. In addition to presentations by Gambian youth and a viewing of the film about the life of Bahá’u’lláh, the participants also watched a film made by the Gambian Bahá’ís about service in various communities aimed at the betterment of their country.
